Rachel specialises in civil and commercial litigation with particular expertise in public law, regulatory proceedings, contractual disputes and negligence claims.  She also has significant experience in advising clients responding to regulatory investigations, including in relation to insurance issues.

Rachel’s committed approach means she is a trusted adviser who quickly develops knowledge in the area at issue.  Her wide-ranging experience is an asset as it allows Rachel to draw parallels across different areas of the law and find logical and pragmatic solutions.

Prior to joining Wilson Harle, Rachel worked for a number of years at the Crown Law Office working in the public commercial team.  She holds an LLB(Hons) and a BCA from Victoria University.

Acting for the Canterbury Medical Officer of Health in proceedings against the supermarket companies relating to the interpretation of the alcohol legislation and its application to supermarkets, including in the Court of Appeal.

Acting for a developer in major contractual dispute in relation to infrastructure funding agreement.

Acting for a construction company in resolving disputes with a supplier and developer.

Providing independent advice to representatives in bank fees proceedings.

Acted for partners in successfully resolving high profile partnership disputes.

Acted for various finance company directors and alleged promoters in civil and criminal proceedings brought pursuant to the securities, companies and Crimes Acts.

Acted for a construction company in mediation with subcontractor.

Acted for District Health Board in dispute with ACC.

Acted for Air New Zealand executives in proceedings brought by Commerce Commission alleging price fixing.
